THE DESTINATION

SAINT LUC, SWITZERLAND

Our search for the perfect place to celebrate led us to Saint-Luc, a small village perched on a sun-soaked terrace high above the Val d’Anniviers. A scouting trip sealed the deal. With its turn-of-the-century charm, dramatic peaks, unhurried pace, and cowbells echoing in the distance, Saint-Luc has retained its traditional Swiss soul and we’re excited to spend a few days here together among the mountains.

The Val d’Anniviers is a stunning valley that extends deep into the heart of the Alps. The valley is dotted with a series of charming Alpine villages, each preserving its own distinctive character. At one end sits the “Imperial Crown,” a mountain range featuring some of Switzerland’s most iconic 4,000-metre peaks.

Saint-Luc is a village in the heart of the Val d’Anniviers, located approximately two hours and thirty minutes from Geneva. Perched at 1,655 metres on the sunny eastern slope of the valley, Saint-Luc offers unobstructed views of the surrounding peaks.

THE ACTIVITIES

We've put together a short list of some things to enjoy in the area for when you're not celebrating with us. We'll be organizing a few group activities and meals during the stay, but there's plenty to explore on your own too! If you have any questions or want recommendations, reach out—we’re happy to help!

From gentle rambles to routes that make you question your life choices, there's something for everyone. We plan to organize one or two gentle (we promise!) group hikes but if you can't get enough, here are a few highly recommended trails: Chemin des Planets and the Lake Trail.

The Hotel Bella-Tola offers a sauna, steam rooms, pool, and spa treatments for those seeking a gentler kind of mountain therapy.

The Val d'Anniviers is dotted with charming alpine villages and hamlets, where cowbells echo across pastures. Wander to the other side of the valley to explore Grimentz, a beautifully preserved medieval village with cobbled streets and traditional wooden chalets.

Known as "the star resort" for its high altitude and minimal light pollution, Saint-Luc offers world-class stargazing. Visit the observatory and planetarium in town, or simply contemplate your cosmic insignificance under a blanket of stars.

Take the funicular! A cheerful blue-and-yellow cable car in Saint-Luc is available to whisk you up to 2,180 meters in just minutes, where panoramic views, alpine restaurants, and trailheads await.

Thrill-seekers can try paragliding over the valley, tackle one of two via ferrata routes for cliffside climbing with breathtaking views, race down alpine slopes on mountain carts, or explore the Val d’Anniviers’ extensive mountain biking trails.

Saint-Luc sits in Valais, Switzerland’s largest wine region—yet Swiss wine is still a well-kept secret, with less than 2% ever leaving the country. Track down Vin du Glaciers (Glacier Wine), a rare alpine specialty available in only a few select cellars. For classic Valais vineyards and tasting rooms, head to nearby Grimentz, Sierre, and Sion.

The Swiss hashbrown is simple perfection. It should be eaten often. And yes—I am highlighting a potato.
